You Just Have To Do It

Stop Waiting for Somebody to Do It For You

No one else will.

That’s what I found out. Not just recently either, but sometimes these little bits of wisdom take a long time to sink in with me.

In July, I published my first book on Amazon KDP—YAY ME!!!! To say I’m excited is an understatement. It’s been a long time coming.

If you ask me a point blank question, I’m pointedly blank.

I can’t answer it to save my life! Unless you give me paper and pen or a computer, then I can wax poetic and pull from my personal vault of knowledge until I give an answer which would confound a scholar.

Literally.

But I’m a wordsmith and I always have been. It’s a craft and it’s been honed for several decades now.

Still. Even though I wrote the book below about four years ago, it’s taken me THAT long to publish it.

Why?

Because I stumble through life without a clue and I always have.

I’m starting to think I have undiagnosed ADHD. It’s as good an explanation as any as to why I can’t get my life together.

All that aside, I am BEYOND overwhelmed and proud that I have finally published this book, and what I realized when I started to write the sequel is that I am FAR from finished writing books. I wrote the last paragraph of the last book I believe I will ever write, at least up to my life right now, and there are several books in between to be written.

I’m going to be pretty busy.

Raise your hand if you stumble through without a clue like I do (guess I’m still a poet at heart)! Conversely, let me know if you have your life together with a clear set of rules and organizational skills, with your feet set on a particular path you never deviate from and the world always lines up in your favor!

If you live somewhere in the “in between,” I think you’re where most people are, which is a lucky break for people like me who need to stop and ask directions a lot.

Thank you to anyone who has bought my book. For a little while there it was #26 in Southern US biographies, beating out Britney Spears by one point. That means she wasn’t selling any books at all, but whatever, I’m so honored to even have made a chart that I can’t stand myself!

It’s not a long read if you want to grab it in either the e-book or paperback edition. The next one will be up soon, and I know this because I’m more than halfway finished writing it and I know how to do it all now. Designing the cover and doing the graphics myself is a definite bonus when it comes to speed.

This one won’t take four years. This one won’t take four years. This one won’t take…..

Yeah, it really won’t!

Kisses y’all.
